Finding Osun.....the River Goddess

August 5th, 2023 started my Ifa initiation, Itefa. I expected to be corrected on that August 6th , 2023 day when Baba Chief Poopola gave my Ifa reading in the presence of 60 people or so that came to listen and witness my initiation into Ifa. I was immensely grateful and humbled by the opportunity to initiate with someone as prestigious and respected worldwide for Isese.


I would of never thought in a thousand years that I would be considered a daughter of Osun, Yeye asserted herself during an Ifa initiation without being asked or petitioned ... what I gathered is Yeye Osun was and still is very protective of me... the reading" you have always had a choice between being a peacock or a vulture, you choose to be the vulture... Ifa says step up and be the peacock. If you choose to be the peacock now, your contemporaries, basically your peers, will say you are cocky and arrogant, that should not be your concern. What should be your concern is the fulfillment of your destiny. The part about Osun, continuing... you are a daughter of Osun and she will help you to fulfill your destiny. Any man that underestimates you, will not fulfill his destiny, he will never ever fulfill what he has come into this world to fulfill, so relax... she was certainly making a statement.


I am still learning about myself and in doing so learning about Yeye Osun. She is a mother, a protector, a counselor, a wise woman, a patient caring companion and friend. She wills a lot of power. I often call on Yeye for guidance and she does just that. My favorite color is taracota orange, orange and yellow are Yeye Osun colors. I am honored to be your daughter and thank you for protecting and guiding me... my journey has not been easy and certainly jealousy is a part of that journey. I am truly learning Balance and Wisdom.
